Not so Wordless Wednesday – The Vow

15 Feb

Well, this is such a great photo and I’m sure that most sane women in America agree with what it states.  But, all joking aside, I just went to see the movie “The Vow” last night; which is what this comment refers to, and it was the best romantic movie I have seen since “The Notebook.”  You’ve all seen the previews: a young married couple gets into a car accident and the wife wakes up from a coma to find that she has lost her memories from the last several years.  With me being a huge fan of Nicholas Sparks (and this story just had so many of the same qualities), I knew I would love it!

Watching the characters in flashbacks of the flirtatious beginning of their relationship to the deep love and understanding they shared with one another before the accident made me long to be in love again.  Someday, obviously.  And, with the right person.  And, even though I went to see the movie with my sister, since I was not otherwise spoken for this Valentine’s Day, it was still the perfect movie to indulge in on this occasion.  Watching Channing Tatum be the loving doting husband to begin with and envying his love for Rachel McAdams was one thing.  But, then he dedicated himself to making her fall in love with him all over again!  Wow!  What an amazing guy (and beautiful to look at too)!  I won’t give anything else away but if you enjoy a good love story then definitely see it!!!

And, I’m going to sound like the stereotypical single woman here for a moment but where’s my Prince Charming?  Really, this chick has an amazing guy that made her fall in love with him not just once but is trying desperately to do it again; where do you find that kind of dedication and loyalty these days!  It is movies like this, “The Notebook,” “While You Were Sleeping,”  “A Walk To Remember” (I could go on and on) that make us all remember that while these stories are just that – stories – the magic of being in love is out there; we just have to be open to finding it.

So, in conclusion, I extend my telepathic heartfelt invitation to a Leo (Channing Tatum’s character) twin to come find me and sweep me off my feet!

Loved it. And him. And yes, if I woke up with him standing over me telling me he was madly in love with me I’d totally just go with it. I mean seriously. When he went to get the trash or empty the trash or eat the trash or whatever, I died a little.

loved the movie. loved the ending (i heard some women bitching about it on the way out, and i couldn’t understand why. it was PERFECT). loved what the mother (jessica lange) said when her daughter (rachel mcadams) questioned why she’d stay with her husband (sam neill) after what he did. that’s is how it’s supposed to be, i’d think. a marriage ain’t perfect. man sure as shit isn’t.

the tragedy of that accident. THAT is for better or worse.

there was so much i loved about this movie.

but i am not a fan of channing tatum. at all. and his hair? they dyed it black or something and styled it wonky, and every time he was on the screen, i was distracted by this.

I agree. The movie was great; though I did wish they showed about 5 more minutes of an ending. Such a good love story and that was definitely for better or worse.
